No matter where you live, I’m sure that you have at least begun to think about summer.  And along with those summer thoughts, you might be wondering what do I wear to the beach?  Yes, fashion counts even at the beach.

Men, please read the following line: There is only one suitable cut for swim trunks — Board Shorts.

What are board shorts?  They are the shorts usually worn by surfers that end comfortably at the knees.  Board shorts are the safest and, yes, trendiest fit in swim trunks.  Regardless of whether you are the guy that has kept his new year’s resolution or if you are the guy who left that get fit resolution behind in February; board shorts will accentuate the positive and cover the negatives.

Contrary to a lot of my columns where I say “play it safe”, the summer is time to throw cautious patterns to the wind.  This is the time where it’s actually okay to be a little risqué with a print.  And because you are going to take a chance with patterns, there is no need to spend a fortune on shorts.  Old Navy has an incredible selection of prints from floral to plaid and at only $19.50! Feel free to pick up a couple of pairs.

Guys this is NOT the time to try to impress fellow beach goers with an expensive pair of Ralph Lauren Purple Label trunks.  At the end of the day only one thing is guaranteed; they are going to get wet.
